The Milky Way is a cloud of stars

For countless generations, people had noticed a glowing band of light stretching across the night sky - the Milky Way.

When Galileo turned his attention to it, his telescopes showed that the glow came from countless numbers of stars.

Galileo discovered that the Milky Way
galaxy is:

  1. a distant universe
  2. a dust cloud in space
  3. the outer edge of the solar system
  4. an enormous cloud of stars
