HDF Index

Hubble Deep Field Image Files

The HDF images are mosaics - composite images
created by stitching together tiles and colour layers.

Examine the mosaic files in detail. Count, classify and label the objects. Develop a grid reference system and index the objects. Develop a distance scale. Copy the objects to paste them into charts and databases. Make a game board and counters for an intergalactic adventure game. Name and write stories about about this extrordinary collection of far-flung worlds, which, from Earth, can be obscured by a grain of sand balanced on the tip of one's thumb.
