What Size and Quality Settings Should I Use to Capture Images?

Good prints can only be obtained from large sized, high quality images. It is good practice to capture images at the highest size and quality available. A graphics editor can then be used to convert files for web page display and email. Once you are certain you no have no further use for the full size originals, discard them to free up disk space. If you shoot at low size and quality, you do not have the option of obtaining good quality prints, should you capture some particularly pleasing images.

If you are certain you will not be printing the images, shoot at a lower size and quality setting that gives you acceptable images for your purpos. You will then be able to fit more images on the memory card.
