Mimas
Mimas is an icy moon, 398 kilometers across. These images of the moon were taken by the Cassini spacecraft in 2004 and 2005.Mimas is covered with craters. Herschel crater, 130 kilometers across, dwarfs all the rest. Its prominent central peak is seen here almost exactly on the terminator. The impact that formed Hereschel crater probably nearly destroyed Mimas.
