Supernovae
One of the most spectacular objects in the sky must have been the Supernovae of 1054 observed by the Chinese. Today this explosion is seen as the Crab Nebula, the expanding remains of the star. Inside is a pulsar, a rapidly rotating neutron star that beams a beacon of radiation towards Earth many times a second.
